Wednesday 3 December is International Day of People with Disability - a day to promote awareness, understanding and genuine inclusion.
Across our six aquatic and fitness centres, we’re proud to provide accessible facilities and foster inclusive employment. Recently, members of our team - including Karen and Ian, who are part of our long-standing partnership with Job Support - attended a special event celebrating a major milestone: 40 years of creating meaningful employment for people with intellectual disability. Job Support is Australia’s leader in inclusive employment, achieving an outstanding 94% job retention rate for at least 52 weeks.
At the event, our centres were recognised for our commitment to inclusive employment and the valued contributions of our team members. has partnered with Job Support for more than a decade. Ian, a highly valued team member for 10 years, shared:
“What I love most is the friendly members and staff, and how they take my advice on board. My Job Support team and supervisors have been amazing. I really value the feedback and enjoy catching up with former supervisors.”
was also acknowledged for its dedication to creating inclusive opportunities. Karen, who has been part of our team for more than 10 years, said:
“The staff and customers are very kind and make me laugh. I like coming to work every day and want to stay for another 10 years.”
Inclusive employment is about more than providing jobs - it strengthens communities and creates workplaces where everyone is valued. We’re incredibly proud of Ian, Karen and all our team members who make inclusion meaningful every day. Together with Job Support, we’ll continue building environments where everyone can thrive.
