As part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence, Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre is hosting a unique self-defence course.
This 4-week program, run by Velocity Empowerment, will take place every Wednesday from 1:30 to 2:30pm on November 20 and 27, and December 4 and 11.
Designed to be both trauma-informed and accessible, this course offers the skills and confidence to protect yourself while fostering a supportive community. For just $80 (reduced from $300), participants can gain lifelong skills.
The program provides a safe and welcoming space suitable for mums, to learn:
Fundamental self-defence principles tailored for real-world scenarios
Practical techniques to handle difficult situations and improve awareness
To build physical confidence, personal growth and a sense of empowerment.
Don’t miss this chance to invest in your own wellbeing - whether you’re looking to learn self-defence, meet other local mums to connect and support one another, or simply build confidence, this course offers an enriching experience.
Spaces are limited to 20 women! Register your interest via and take a step toward a more empowered future.
