We are committed to maintaining and improving our facilities to ensure the best experience for our members and visitors.
Planned overnight works will be taking place at Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre in early February 2026 as part of essential infrastructure improvements. These works will be complete by mid-February and have been scheduled overnight to minimise disruption during staffed hours.
During the works period, the following will be in place:
Scaffolding at either end of the 50m pool
Temporary changes to access around the pool
Exclusion zones at times for safety
Periods of restricted ramp access to the 50m pool, due to reduced width
Temporary impacts to amenities, including limited access to some bathrooms or locker areas at times, alternative bathroom and lockers bays in the centre are still accessible
Ramp access to 50m pool
The ramp will remain available throughout the works, however, during parts of the works the width will be slightly reduced. As a result, some users who require the full ramp width, including those using some wheelchairs or walking aids, may be unable to access the 50m pool during these periods. Our team will be available in-centre to assist and provide guidance on alternative options where possible.
The pool and gym will remain open and available for use throughout this period. Please follow the in-centre signage and guidance from our team, as impacts may vary day-to-day.
Members and visitors who require additional space or assistance, are encouraged to speak with our team before your visit.
