We are committed to maintaining and improving our facilities to ensure the best experience for our members and visitors.
From Thursday 18 June to Tuesday 30 June 2026, planned annual maintenance works will take place throughout Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre.
The centre will remain open throughout the works period, with all pools, gym facilities and programs continuing as normal.
Works include a range of maintenance activities such as timber bench restoration, ceiling painting, replacement of damaged building elements, steel framework maintenance and associated cleaning works.
The timber bench seating around the program and leisure pools will be temporarily unavailable during the works. Rolling exclusion zones will also be in place around sections of the leisure pool as painting works progress through the area.
During the works, members and visitors may notice:
Temporary exclusion zones around active work areas
Paint odour in some areas of the centre during the work
Contractors working throughout the centre
Minor noise associated with maintenance activities
Minor visual disruption from equipment and work zones
Clear signage will be displayed throughout the centre and our team will be available to assist where required.
