Meet Louisa, she works in IT and has been living in Beaconsfield for 10 years.

Over this time, she has seen a lot of changes to the area, more apartments, the precinct becoming more gentrified and the addition of Gunyama Park.

This is her story on why she and her whole family made Gunyama Park their favourite space to train, swim and relax at.

How long have you been visiting Gunyama Park?

L: I have been training at Gunyama Park since it opened over two years ago.

How often do you visit the centre?

L: I come around four to five times a week.

What do you enjoy doing the most?

L: As I love to dance, SH'BAM is my favourite class – it is just so much fun and I forget any worries I have.

I also enjoy BODYCOMBAT, BODYPUMP, Yoga and Reformer too.

Something for the whole family

Louisa has a family membership so her husband and two children (aged 8 and 10) are also frequent visitors to the centre.

L: The kids love the pool and also do regular swim lessons. It is great to be able to get the kids out of the house and do something that is physical and keeps them healthy and happy. My husband likes hitting the weights at the gym.

The family membership is terrific value for money for us – it is also a bonus to be able to go to so many other pools as well.

What makes coming here your happy place?

L: The classes are my favourite thing to do – it is great to be able to have a much needed break from work and do a workout in only 45 minutes.

I also love the energy from the instructors and the motivation from training with other people.

The members are all friendly and it is great to meet other people and have a social chat at the end of the class.

The classes keep me active, healthy, fit and helps me achieve my goals.

What I also appreciate is having such a large outdoor pool and big open spaces – there are not a lot of places like this and it makes the centre so spacious and well appointed.

Basically the centre ticks all the boxes – and this is why it is such a happy place not just for me but the whole family.
