This year’s Mental Health Month theme, "Let’s Talk About It," highlights the need to look after our mental wellbeing and encourage open conversations around it.
Daily exercise is a powerful way to boost your mental health, and the City of Sydney’s aquatic and fitness centres offer plenty of opportunities to support you.
Here are some ways to enhance your mental health this October at our centres:
1. Go swimming
is a great full-body workout that reduces stress, boosts mood, and promotes relaxation. Whether it's laps in the pool, an aqua class or a leisurely dip, swimming has a calming effect that can help you unwind.
2. Practice yoga and deep breathing
for a mindful, low-impact workout that strengthens the body and the mind. Focusing on deep breathing and gentle movement can reduce anxiety and promote mental clarity.
3. Connect with a friend or loved one
Whether you’re working out at the gym together, enjoying a coffee at , or relaxing by the pool, spending time with a friend or loved one is a great way to feel connected and chat about anything on your mind.
